About this sample
Hospitals in Bangladesh check two things before anything else: that you are registered with the Bangladesh Nursing and Midwifery Council (BNMC), and where you have nursed. This sample puts the registration in the summary and the certificates section, and describes each ward or unit with its size and the patient load per shift.
It uses a formal layout with personal details and two referees, which private hospitals and clinics in Bangladesh generally expect. For jobs abroad, keep the clinical content and drop the long personal block, as the Gulf jobs sample does.

What recruiters check first
- Valid registration. Your BNMC registration is checked first. Write the registration type and number exactly as on your certificate, and make sure it is valid on the day you apply.
- Ward and unit experience. Medicine, surgery, ICU, CCU, NICU, emergency, OT: name each unit, its size and how many patients you looked after per shift. "Worked in ICU" tells a nursing supervisor very little.
- Clinical skills you do without supervision. IV cannulation, medication rounds, wound care, ventilator care, transfusion monitoring. List what you do routinely, not everything you have seen once.
- Certificates such as BLS. Basic Life Support (BLS) is often asked for; ACLS, infection control and specialty courses help for ICU and emergency posts. Give the issuer and year of each.
- Shift flexibility. Hospitals run on rotating shifts. One line saying you work day, evening and night rotations answers a question every nursing recruiter has.
- Referees who have seen you nurse. A nursing supervisor or a senior instructor who has watched you work carries more weight than a family friend. Give their post, hospital or college, and contact details.

Skills to include
List the skills the job circular asks for that you really have, in its own words, grouped so a recruiter can scan them in seconds:
- Clinical care: Patient assessment and vital signs, IV cannulation and infusions, Medication administration, Wound care
- Critical care: Ventilator care (assisted), Blood gas monitoring, Cardiac monitoring, Infection prevention and control
- Records: Nursing care plans, SBAR shift handover, Hospital information system
Format tips
- Write your BNMC registration type and number exactly as on the certificate, near the top of the CV.
- Name each ward or unit with its bed count and your patient load per shift.
- Give each certificate (BLS, ACLS, infection control) with its issuer and year.
- Use a formal passport-size photo if the hospital expects one: a recent photo (last 6 months); for government forms, follow the circular.
- List your nursing qualification, HSC and SSC with their results. Start at SSC; leave out JSC/PSC.
Frequently asked questions
- How do I write my BNMC registration on a nursing CV?
- Put it in a Registration or Certificates section near the top: the registration type (for example, Registered Nurse and Midwife), the number and the year, exactly as on your BNMC certificate. Mention it in your summary too, because it is the first thing a hospital checks.
- Should I list my Diploma or my BSc in Nursing first?
- Your highest qualification first, then the rest in reverse order. If you hold both a Diploma and a BSc (including a post-basic BSc), give each with its institution and year.
- Does a nursing CV in Bangladesh need a photo?
- Most private hospitals and clinics in Bangladesh expect a formal, passport-size photo. A recent photo (last 6 months); for government forms, follow the circular. For jobs abroad, add one only if the employer or agency asks.
- What should I add for a nursing job in the Gulf?
- Your registration, your years of experience after registration by unit, and certificates such as BLS and ACLS. Each country has its own licensing body and steps, usually an exam and a check of your documents: for example the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties, Dubai's DHA, Abu Dhabi's DOH, the UAE's MOHAP and Qatar's Ministry of Public Health. Check the regulator's current requirements before you apply, and never pay an agency that promises a guaranteed visa.
- Are government Senior Staff Nurse posts filled with a CV?
- No. Government Senior Staff Nurse posts are recruited through the Bangladesh Public Service Commission, using the application form in the circular rather than a CV. A CV like this one is for private hospitals, clinics, NGOs and jobs abroad.
