About this sample
Employers and recruitment agencies in the Gulf screen hundreds of international CVs for each role. They want to know three things fast: can you do the job, can you legally and practically come, and when. This sample answers all three in the first few lines.
Compared with a Bangladeshi CV, it drops the parents' names and the long personal block, keeps nationality and date of birth (commonly expected in the Gulf), and states passport validity and notice period in the summary.
What recruiters check first
- Relevant experience in plain terms. Your job title, the type and size of company, and what you handled. Gulf recruiters may not know Bangladeshi company names, so a short line describing each employer helps.
- Nationality, passport and availability. Nationality, passport validity, current location and notice period tell an employer how quickly you can join. Put them where they are easy to find.
- Tools and standards they use. Name the software and standards you know (for an accountant: Tally, QuickBooks, Excel, VAT, IFRS). Many Gulf employers filter by these words.
- Languages. English is essential for most office roles. Arabic, Hindi or Urdu, even at a basic level, is a real plus in many Gulf workplaces.
Bullet points: weak vs strong
The same experience, written two ways. The strong version says what was done and what changed because of it. Only use numbers you can explain in an interview.
- Instead of: Responsible for accounts payable.
Write: Process 350+ supplier invoices a month and keep payables ageing under 45 days. - Instead of: Did bank reconciliation.
Write: Reconcile 6 bank accounts every month; cleared a 14-month backlog of unmatched entries in 10 weeks. - Instead of: Handled month-end closing.
Write: Cut month-end closing from 9 working days to 5 by standardising accrual templates in Excel.

List the skills the job circular asks for that you really have, in its own words, grouped so a recruiter can scan them in seconds:
- Accounting: Accounts payable and receivable, Bank reconciliation, VAT, Month-end closing
- Software: Tally Prime, QuickBooks, MS Excel (advanced)
- Languages: English, Bengali, Hindi / Urdu, Arabic (basic)
Format tips
- Write in clear, international English; avoid local abbreviations and Bangla terms.
- Add a one-line description of each Bangladeshi employer (industry and size).
- Include nationality, date of birth, passport validity and notice period; leave out parents' names.
- Only include a photo if the job post or agency asks for one.
- Never pay an agency that promises a guaranteed job or visa; apply through verified employers and licensed recruiting agencies.
Frequently asked questions
- Should my CV for Dubai include a photo?
- Many Gulf employers and agencies still ask for one. Use a professional, plain-background photo if the job post asks for it, and follow the post when it says not to.
- Do I need to include my passport number?
- Stating that you hold a valid passport and its expiry year is usually enough on the CV. Give the passport number only when an employer or licensed agency formally requests it.
- How long should a CV for Gulf jobs be?
- Two pages is standard for experienced candidates. Keep it focused on the last 8 to 10 years of relevant work.
- Is a Bangladeshi degree accepted in the UAE or Saudi Arabia?
- Often yes, but many employers need certificates to be attested before a visa is issued. Name your degree and university clearly on the CV, and check attestation rules for the specific country and job.
